RESULTS IN THE SENIOR DEPARTMENT

Tower House School is by policy a non-selective school.  Bearing this in mind, the recent results at GCSE have been exceptional.  When the percentage of pupils at Tower House gaining 5 or more passes is compared to the national average the results are even more impressive (see table).  The overall subject higher grade pass rates have regularly been over 80%.

A more revealing statistic, however is the recently included Value Added measure with reflects the progress made by pupils during their secondary education.  At its inception the value for pupils' progress at Tower House between Key Stages 3 and 4 was the highest in Torbay and South Devon and amongst the highest in the West Country and placed the School at around the highest 15% nationally.    Subsequently the measure has placed the School at this level when compared with all schools.
